Poor Olivia!

It has been a rough 3 weeks in the life of Olivia starting with getting her tooth pulled 3 weeks. Who would have known that would be the easy part!!!

She has been running a fever on and off for the past two weeks, missed 4 days of school, would have been five except yesterday was a teacher inservice day. The plan was for the girls to go to school on Friday, with Mommy. At some point in the middle of the night on Thursday Olivia came into our room complaining of her ear hurting. A heating pad and some Tylenol helped but the poor girl was definately in pain.

The three of us went to school on Friday and I called the doctor's office at 9 when they opened. Olivia was sooooo out of it at school. She just did not feel well. I taught my first class, supervised my studyhall, and then walked out the door at 10:30for her appointment. Dr Davies looked in her healthy ear then looked in her achy ear. His reaction was enough for me to know it was a bad ear infection. The first ear infection EVER in the Sheehan household...we are fortunately not one of those families that are constantly getting ear infections. He immediately put some drops in her ear to numb the ear so it wouldn't hurt so bad and sent us on our way with a couple of prescriptions. (Before we left Em was able to get the H1N1 mist, already had the regular flu mist, so she is good to go...got to get O back when she is healthy for hers).

Olivia fell asleep at 11:00 in the car ride home and slept until 3:30...guess she didn't get much sleep at all the night before, I know I didn't! So I snuck a nap in for an hour with her while Emma was a trooper and kept herself busy doing who knows what!

Emma and I went to the Sectional Volleyball games last night and left sick Olivia home with Marc. Emma is starting to take a liking to the sport and is going to start playing a little this winter with a U12 team. Let's hope she likes it because it sure was nice sitting in a warm gym watching VB...I would NOT make a good soccer mom watching games from my car so I can keep warm! LOL

Happy Halloween!

From the moment Olivia woke up Saturday morning she has been asking "When is Halloween? When is Halloween?" By 7 in the morning they both had their costumes on and were ready to gather their heaps and heaps of candy! It would have been easier to take them out at 6:30 in the morning, when it was still dark, to gather their goodies...then I wouldn't have had to explain to Olivia over and over again that she couldn't go trick or treating until after dinner.

From what Marc said, they had a great time. I was in bed by 6:30, again. He was on trick or treating duty alone this year. They did bring up their loot to show me but I could barely open my eyes to see it...all I could do was listen to yet another piece of candy being opened and gobbled up.

I was lucky to have been able to convince the girls to wear costumes that we already had. Em wore Kiley's old witch costume and loved it! Olivia wore the costume Emma wore last year, not sure what it is called but it is an army girl with lots of bling! They both looked super cute!
