Chess with Ki

It seems like Kiley has been over a lot lately and when she is here she is really spending time with the girls and they LOVE it! It is so nice to see them enjoing each other.

Emma taught Kiley how to play chess. Although Emma got excited about the "win" a little prematurely! She thought she had to capture Ki's queen to win. LOL OK, so we gotta keep working on the rules a bit.

Olivia's favorite gift this year for Christmas was her Nintendo DS. When she asked if she could take it to school so she could play it on the school bus (all the kids do, and it is a 40 minute bus ride!) I was hesitant, like any mom would be. But she promised to put it in her backpack when she was done and take really good care of it. Well, 19 days later, it was lost. Somehow, it miraculously turned up at school and Olivia now understands and agrees that it shouldn't go to school with her anymore. Her teacher telling her not to bring had something to do with that I'm sure! Glad it is back...

Anyway...here she is playing her DS, of all places! LOL

Christmas

Aunt Jo, Jeff, Amy, Jake and Dory all came over on Christmas Eve. The kids were so excited to be opening presents a day early.

I went running Christmas morning...I went a half an hour early to make sure I was homein plenty of time if the girls were to wake up early. So, I went running at 4:30, was home by 5:30, the girls woke at 6, and were done opening gifts by 6:22! All that work for 22 minutes of opening presents...how fast it goes by!!!

Olivia was so funny...she received two Nintendo DS games for Xmas and doesn't own a DS...yet. Each time she opened a game she turned to Emma and said, "I can play this on your DS Emma!" It never dawned on her that there just might be a DS under the tree someplace with her name on it! What a fun age 5 is!

After opening presents here, we went to Horseheads to celebrate with Marc's parents. The girls had a great time playing with Gavin and Madi.

Kiley has really gotten into photography this past year and Nonna and Papa gave her this great software to edit photos with.

Aunt Jo is the fave!

We went to Jeff and Amy's for THanksgiving dinner...Midvale style! The cousins had a great time playing together and they had an even better time piling on Aunt Jo!

Emma turns 8!

Wow! I didn't realize how busy life got over the past 6 weeks. I FINALLY transferred the rest of the Halloween picts (from camera #2), thanksgiving, Emma's birthday, and Christmas from my camera to my computer!

So here we go...starting with Emma's birthday pictures! I cannot believe she is 8 years old already! She had a lot of fun opening her gifts this year. In the past, we would send her on a scavenger hunt, but this year we did something different. Each gift had a tag on it telling her what she needed to do before opening the present...jump on one foot 20 times, rub your belly and pat your head, single jingle bells, give everyone in the room a hug, etc.... she had soooo much fun doing them!
And, she even hugged her sister! LOL

Em wasn't the only one that celebrated a birthday...Marc turned 40!!!! WOW He is getting old! We were thankful Maga and Papap as well as Aunt Jo were able to celebrate with us. We originally wanted to go out for sushi, but when Marc got home from work at almost 6:00, we decided ordering Chinese would work just fine. Besides, once Emma put on her new leotard, she didn't want to take it off! (O:
